In the late 1970’s, Topps released a new candy product named Ring Pops. They were created by company engineer Frank Richards, who wanted to help his young daughter break her thumb-sucking habit. My large body of baseball card-inspired artwork is mainly focused on the history of the bubble gum side of the business, from brands like Topps (Bazooka), Fleer (Dubble Bubble), and Leaf (Rain Blo). However, I’ve long been intrigued by the Ring Pop and its relation to the Topps Chewing Gum Company.

Taking advantage of 3D modeling and augmented reality, I’ve reimagined this iconic lollipop as a gold championship candy ring, using the Commissioner's Trophy as the supporting base.

This Ring Pop lives in the OVR metaverse at Wrigley Field (next to Ernie Banks) to honor the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs.
